The 12th Chinese Women Economists (CWE) international workshop was held the School of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development, Renmin University of China, in Beijing on June 13, 2015. Our Chinese sister organization invited two board members of CWEN, as well as two representatives from CSWEP, to attend the workshop. The keynote speakers were Shulamit (Shu) Kahn from, Boston University (USA) and Anke Kessler from Simon Fraser University (Canada). Shu gave a very informative presentenation on the current state of women in US Economics Academia, while Anke talked about “Cultural Heritage, Family Socialization, and Education: Evidence from Canada”. It was a pleasure to experience first hand just how much excellent research is being done by women economists in China. More details of the program can be found here. Thank you for the kind invitation!
