Dear CWEN/RFE members,
As you may recall from previous communications and from last year’s AGM, in response to the formation of the Canadian Women Economists Committee/Comité des Femmes Économistes (CWEC/CFÉC), CWEN/RFÉ’s Executive proposed that CWEN/RFÉ should develop plans to wind up operations once it became clear that CWEC/CFÉC was operational. Members attending the AGM agreed to this course of action.
Subsequently, a Chair has been appointed for CWEC/CFÉC – Elizabeth Dhuey (our current Vice President) – and she has gathered an impressive group to work on the subcommittee. They are expected to be in a position to take up most to all of the activities of CWEN/RFE over the course of the next 12 months.
Consequently, a motion to dissolve CWEN/RFE will be brought to members at this year’s AGM, which will be held from on Saturday June 3 in Antigonish from 3:45 to 4:15pm.
The timing of the AGM is between paper sessions, and we encourage as many members to attend as possible.
